  My family have been training with West Coast Aikido Academy of Western Australia for over 3 years. Great teachers, awesome students to train with. We like the fitness, the self defence skills, the co-ordination skills and the fun.

  I joined this martial arts school in 2009, and left quite recently. Starting out, it was good for my physical fitness, however as the years went by it became more and more clear that Ross was interested more in the income his students produced rather than their personal growth or satisfaction. I have had this feedback from atleast 2 former students who have also left. It is disappointing to see how much of an impersonal money making scheme WCAA has become.

  I have been training at WCAAWA for the past 15 months. I initially joined to improve my fitness and lose some weight as I sit at a computer for 8 hours a day. It didn't take me long to realise that I was getting much more from my training than just fitness and weight loss. Aikido has also taught me to be more patient, disciplined and confident in dealing with stressful situations along with some important self defence skills. My daughter also started in the "Little Dragons" class and has progressed to the 7-9 year old kids class, she really loves it. My wife really enjoyed the women's self defence course and learnt some vital skills. It has been great to share a common interest with my whole family.
